Forth Bridges Trail signage
You may have seen the new signs aound the village highlighting the Forth Bridges Trail, below is a little background for the project.

The Forth Bridges Tourism Strategy 2019-2029 was born from one of the actions of the Forth Bridge World Heritage Management Plan which supported the Bridge's successful inscription as a World Heritage Site in 2015.

The Tourism Strategy was launched in 2019.

The Forth Bridges Tourism Group is a partnership between Fife Council, City of Edinburgh Council, West Lothian Council, Transport Scotland, Network Rail, Historic Environment Scotland and VisitScotland.

The Forth Bridges Trail was proposed building on the tourism signage strategy.  The work has been carried out in three phases, according to when funds were available, managed by the Forth Bridges Area Tourism Strategy Manager Karen Stewart

Phase One in November 2022 launched the Forth Bridges Trail.  This phase was funded by contributions across the Tourism Group.

Phase Two in April 2024 was funded partly by the Tourism Group and partly by the UK Government's UK Shared Prosperity Fund.

Phase Three (final) - February 2025 - The signs have just been installed, this phase was entirely funded by the UK Government's UK Shared Prosperity Fund.

Throughout all the phases, there has been support from the North Queensferry Heritage Trust and Community Council, involving the Community Trust and Local Action Plan groups at key points.
