Fife Council has agreed to investigate the possibility of introducing a Visitor Levy for Fife, and are now consulting with communities, businesses, residents and visitors to gather views.

The Visitor Levy (Scotland) Act 2024 allows local councils to charge a percentage rate on accommodation within the scheme’s area, with flexibility over when and where it applies. Any funds raised must be used to develop, support and sustain local facilities and services that benefit both visitors and local people.
